Purpose: to examine the Florence Nightingales Nurses Pledge and to develop a proposed alternative pledge for new nurses entering the profession. Outcome: A proposed Nurses Pledge for present and future new nurses entering the profession of nursing

Given that the profession of nursing is continually progressing since the Florence Nightingales era, examine the Florence Nightingales Nurses pledge and then develop a pledge for nurses that you think students entering the nursing profession should use today and in the future.

Introduction on the importance of having a pledge for nurses for those entering the profession. (At least one [1 paragraph).
Discuss why you think that the Florence Nightingales pledge for Nurses is or is not relevant for today and future nurses and support your claims. (At least three [3] paragraphs and two [2] citations/references).
Develop a pledge for nurses that you think students entering the nursing profession should use today and in the future. (no more than two [2] paragraphs). Note, you must develop a nurses pledge whether or not you think the Florence Nightingales pledge is relevant for today and future nurses. See your rubric for the amount of points allotted to each section of this paper.
Discuss what influenced the information you included in the pledge for nurses that you have developed. (At least two [2] paragraphs and one [1] citation/reference).
Your paper should be at least eight (8) paragraphs long (each paragraph should have at least five formal sentences). The first paragraph should be the introduction, the next six (6) paragraphs should be the body, and the last paragraph should be the conclusion.
You must follow APA regarding citations with references (Please ensure to include at least three (3) citations with references to support your claims). If you are using information from Websites, only .gov, .org, and .edu should be used in this scholarly paper. Please do not use any citations from Wikipedia or any citations without a publication date (year) such as (n.d.). Please use 12 font and check for grammar and spelling errors.
Each page of your paper should have a running head including your title page (see pg 41 in your APA manual for an example). Your title page should only have the title, your name and the name of the college you attend (along with the running head as page 1). The second page should have a running head and page 2. Note: you should have the title of your paper centered on your page 2 before you begin writing your paper. This title should be the same one above your name on page 1. Your references should be on a separate page following the conclusion and should have a list of references that correspond to each citation in your paper (see pg 59 in your APA manual).
