In fulfillment of General Education requirements, students will complete a take-home Document-Based Question Essay (350-700 words) that requires students to use and cite at minimum five primary documents to make and support an historical argument.  You must address any topic from John Browns Raid on Harpers Ferry located on page 148-149 of the book under the header Questions for Consideration. Only use specific examples from this companion reader as it is filled with primary source documents. Essays should state an argument (thesis) in the introduction and discuss/develop the argument throughout the entire paper through specific textual examples and analysis (which might include comment, elaboration, and making connections). Essays should demonstrate good, clear, well-organized thought and writing
