Tribute Speech MLA Annotated Bibliography Template

 

Assignment:  Collect at least two articles from the Oakton Community College Virtual Library to use as supporting material for your Persuasive Tribute Speech assignment.  Submit an MLA Annotated Bibliography of ALL the sources used in the research of your Tribute Speech.  You must have a minimum of 3 sources; at least two sources must be from the Oakton Virtual Library.

Using the Oakton Community College Virtual Library, collect at least two research articles for your Tribute Speech from any combination of these databases:

· Magazines & Journals (i.e. )

· Newspapers (i.e. )

· Encyclopedias (i.e. )

· Pro-Con (i.e. )

Create an MLA 8 Annotated Bibliography listing ALL the sources you will use for supporting material in your Tribute Speech:

· You must have a minimum of 3 sources; at least two sources must be from the Oakton Virtual Library.

What should you include in each citation?

Each citation entry should begin with an MLA 8 citation for that article.  In the paragraph following the article, answer these questions:

1. Where did I find this article – i.e. Oakton Library, Google Search? If it is an Oakton Library source, which database did you use to find it?  If it is a print source, where did you find it?

2. What are the qualifications of the author?  If there is no author listed, why is the source qualified to write the article?

3. What is the main idea of the article?  Give a brief summary.

4. How can you use the information from the article as supporting material for your speech – i.e. statistics, examples, testimony, etc.?  (See Chapter 8.)

Submit the annotated bibliography as a PDF or Word document to the appropriate folder in D2L Assignments.

Point Values:

· 2 required Oakton Library articles x 5 points = 10 points

· MLA 8 Annotated Bibliography (minimum of 3 sources) = 10 points

The author of this article is Verity Sulway who is a features writer at Mirror.co.uk and also works for TV and Showbiz news, social media. The author in this article talks how David Attenborough has dedicated his career for eight-decades in wildlife and always surrounded by the wildlife creatures. I will use this article to explain his documentary work and the challenges he faced while filming for all these years in different locations.

David Shukman is British Journalist and former science editor of BBC news. In this article there is graphical information about the increase in temperature globally which leads to global warming. I am going to use this information and describe why David Attenborough is concerned about climate change and its effects and how he is inspiring the youth and the next generation to work on to improve and save the wildlife from extinction.
