the pedagogy of the oppressed

Here is a start to the essay:

When reading The Pedagogy of the Oppressed the focus for me and what im getting from it is Education and understanding Freire’s theory on it. Freire views eucation differently than most teachers. In a traditional classroom they are set up with the teacher lecturing and the students occupied but taking notes, which then they will study and later recapitulate on exams hoping for a passing grade from the knowledgeable teacher. Freire argues that this methodology sustains oppression. Adopting this mentality makes them more vulnerable to oppression at work, school, and in society as a whole. The pedagogy that Freire suggests is to creates an enviroment of mutual respect, love, and understanding. When using Freire’s methods, educators and students teach eachother through respectful dialogue. Everyone learns at the same pace and all viewpoints are respected equally.
