Taylor’s behavior: Psychodynamic theory

Pretend you are a therapist and you are working with a new client, Taylor. She is court mandated after she screamed at a barista for not making her coffee perfectly and threw a cup at her. Throughout the first session, she is defensive and uncomfortable. She reluctantly admits that her family has a high standard for how things “should be”. She later admits that she does not want this to be her norm but she does not understand why she acts this way when upset.

Use the following theories of personality to explain Taylor’s behavior: Psychodynamic theory, genetic influences, environmental influences, cultural approaches, humanist and narrative approaches.
