Telefonica used merger acquisition strategy because this gives competitive edge about knowing customers base and fondness through the acquisition of local player and helps establish brand resonance early. This also have potential risk like lack of customer adoption and merger acquisition law which degrade the physical convergence of assets giving low quality network. 3. Respond to the below 3-4 sentences What changes in the political and economic environment allowed Telefonica to start expanding globally? There have been a few changes politically and economically. For instance, there is no more government controlled telecommunication sectors which means this limits the strict amount of telecommunication within each market and can sell as much or as little under privately owned sectors. With this being said, economically, the Great Recession has made Telefonica expand also. It gave more opportunity to focus on the old technology to be sold as well as making new technology with how technology evolution is going to create new
