Part 3

In this week, you will complete Part 3 of your project. For the final portion of your project, you will give a live presentation of your media release to your instructor either via a webcam, Big Blue Button, or create a video. When giving your presentation, you should convey all of the positive attributes of an effective PIO.

prepare for your live statement. You may find it helpful to revise this release with that feedback and use it as a starting point to create your live presentation.

Your presentation should be brief, and take approximately five minutes, no more than seven minutes.

Additionally, you will be expected to field questions from “the media” (your instructor) for approximately five minutes, so be prepared!

Your instructor will provide you with feedback at the end of your presentation.

Guidelines

The following is a list of guidelines to help you successfully present your information:

Dress as though you are actually giving a live presentation, standing in front of an assembly of news reporters and the public.
Maintain eye contact.
When you’re giving your presentation you should not be reading from a piece of paper. You can use note cards, but do not read word for word from those note cards.
Speak slowly and clearly.
