A problem isnt finished just because you found the right answer. (The Professor – Chapter 3)

Choose one of the relationships explored in the book. What are the strengths and weaknesses of this relationship? Are there any major turning points in this relationship? How does the relationship change over the course of the story?

Why does the Professor love mathematics so much, and why isnt he overly proud of his mathematical accomplishments?

What is the significance of the final paragraph in Chapter 10? Does it recall am earlier incident in the novel? Explain.

In what ways has the Professor come to influence Roots life?  Why do you believe the Professor has been able to influence Root in such a fashion?
