Interview Answers

When preparing for an actual interview, you want to think of several questions that the interviewer might ask, and be ready to answer each of those questions. In this paper, you will answer ten questions that you may be asked in the interview quiz.

In each answer:

• Illustrate your response with detailed classroom examples that relate to the interview question.

• Communicate critical thinking and analysis of interview questions in each video response.

• Use at least one credible source to support your answer.

1. Please explain the lesson plan you have created in order to meet the learning needs of students for a particular topic. In your description, clearly state what you have included in each section of the lesson plan template.

For this prompt, discuss the lesson plan you created in this class. Describe each component in detail. Don’t just copy/paste the lesson plan, explain each section (300-500 words).

2. You will most likely have English Language Learners in your classroom. What accommodations would you provide these students to ensure they are successful in understanding and mastering the learning objectives in your lesson?

You might have already addressed this in your lesson plan, but provide more detail. Describe several ways that you can assist these children (100-200 words).

3. How will you differentiate for your students to make sure each one can meet the learning objective?

Don’t just list items, describe them. Show the interviewer that you can fully support each child (100-200 words).

4. How does your lesson promote cultural diversity?

The interviewer wants to know that you have a firm grasp on including this cultural diversity in the classroom. Illustrate your response with detailed classroom examples that relate to the interview question (100-200 words).

5. How could you integrate technology into the lesson?

To impress the interviewer, talk about not only the technology you will integrate, but also how you evaluated that technology to be sure that it’s quality (100-200 words).

6. What higher level questions will you ask during the lesson to keep students engaged?

Higher level questions should be used throughout the lesson – before, during, and after reading the book. To impress the interviewer, provide not only several questions, but also an explanation of why higher-level questions are important (100-200 words).

7. How will you check for understanding?

Provide a detailed discussion of several different ways that you will check for understanding (100-200 words).

8. What next steps would you take after the lesson if students do not master the learning objective?

This always involves a form of re-teaching, but be specific on how you will re-teach the student. Remember to create an in-depth response with examples, rather than just list some ideas (100-200 words).

9. How does your chosen assessment effectively monitor student learning of the objective and standard?

Be specific. How does the assessment match the objective? You can find resources on the Helpful Hints document (100-200 words).

10. How would you differentiate for advanced learners?

Remember to not only list ideas, but to fully discuss how those ideas look in the classroom (100-200 words).
