For this week…*( read the Los Angeles Slum) I attached the file int he question

1. Double-check your APA formatting and make corrections where needed (.5pt)

2. Give your abstract a try on the outline Los Angeles Slum

· It should cover the following points (each worth .5 points) but that does not mean that each point is one sentence, sometimes you need more than one sentence to address a specific point:

· Key issue & importance of addressing it (.5 point)

· RQs/proposed program or service (for those writing grants) (.5 point)

· How do you propose to answer these RQs/ How do you propose to evaluate the program you are proposing (.5 point)

· What your study/program will contribute to the field or the community (.5 point)

· ***Use the abstracts from your references as examples

· It is ok if it is not perfect it is the first draft! Abstracts help clarify your message and purpose.

3. Add 5-7 keywords (.5 point)

· These should give readers an idea of what your proposal covers

· They can be indicators of your population, the issue at hand, location, methods used, or who it is of relevance to

· Look at the keywords used in articles that you are using or that you have read in the past as examples

4. Expand on your outline (address some of the feedback you received) (.5 point)

· you do not have to reply to the comments, simply incorporate the changes

· Again, I do not expect full-blown paragraphs but add more detail to your bullet points or elaborate on ideas

· Make sure that you are using in-text citations

· The more you expand on your outline the more future you will thank you. However, any progress is better than no progress – baby steps can get us a long way!
