Innov Week 1 DQR

In response to two peers, address the following about their examples of innovation and creativity:

Hi everyone! My name is Monica Roman and I am a University of New Hampshire graduate and have been working as an Assisted Living Executive Director/Administrator since 2020. At the University, I studied Health Management and Policy which focused mostly on healthcare administration, so I wanted to broaden my horizon by studying for my Masters in Business Administration without the healthcare focus. My goal at the end of this course, as-well as completing my Masters, is truly to open additional doors for my professional development. One of the biggest aspects of the Masters program is that is focuses on Organizational Behavior and I'd like to continue to learn in hopes to bring that back to my current work environment. 

As an Administrator, I work in an assisted living for the elderly and oversee the operations of the entire building. I manage each Department Head along with being a resource to over 90+ associates within those departments. That being said, I do have to develop and push my associates to create ideas to further our business. Although we have not done anything technical such as an app or game, we focus on selling a product (assisted living) to our market. With this experience, I have learned a lot about how to communicate to a family that assisted livings are a great option versus a nursing home or even home care. I also learned how hard it is to sell such an emotional product!

One way that I can translate how businesses use "emotional selling" is by bringing up Amazon as an example. This company was extremely innovative during the pandemic and used this type of selling in their marketing. During the pandemic, many of us were trying to find Clorox Wipes, Disinfectants, Tissue Paper, etc. and Amazon was able to target the population in their commercials stating "keep each other safe" and "stay home, we'll deliver" pulling at the gravitas of the pandemic and people's emotions. By doing this, Amazon was able to increase their profits by 220% around the first quarter of 2021 (Weise, 2021). This type of creativity (aka marketing to the emotions of the population) benefitted Amazon and also consumers!

Hello everyone, my name is Christian and I am continuing my education but with a different major this time. I am currently in the MBA program but my last degree was a B.S. in CJ. Things did not really work out for me with CJ so I decided with the experience I have in the Healthcare field I might as well grow in it hence why I am taking the MBA program. I have yet to find any kind of innovation in my career due to the department I'm in. With having an MBA I am sure I could climb up the ladder in getting into some kind of Administration work like Project Coordinator. My main goal is to have my career in the Pharma industry and having the experience in working in the healthcare field I think I will have a good chance getting in. With the previous courses I have had I believe practicing KPIs will help me to achieve inspiration and innovation to my future organization. 

I have not been able to develop any creative innovative ideas with any department let alone help create one. I have always night shifts so there not many opportunities to do it. 

In the previous class I had to research Toyota Motor Corporation and give presentations of its goals, market shares, innovation, R&D and much more. Toyota invested in partnerships to create batteries (lithium ion cells) for future EVs. Panasonic and BYD are 2 partners that Toyota has invested in to create a greener environment that mainly includes reducing carbon emission rates to 0. It will also help with longer battery life and innovative automotive designs. According to CleanTechnica "The planned output of the new production line site will be enough to power 80,000 battery electric cars annually" (Hanley, 2021). Joint venture of Panasonic and Toyota [also known as Prime Planet Energy 7 Solutions] definitely have a system in place to race to the top in BEVs.
