Information Synthesis Project

Information synthesis is the process of analyzing and evaluating information from various sources, making connections between the information found, and combining the recently acquired information with prior knowledge to create something new.

7. Digital health policies: Current policies and Gaps

8. Price transparency: A false hope or reality

9. Evidence-based and precision medicine

Steps (Note: Bold items are deliverables)

1) Select one of the contemporary issues listed above for your project. Don’t select the topic that has been selected by another. Use the discussion forum to determine the available topics and select

2) Create a bibliographic database of articles and sources in a Reference manager (RefWorks)

a. Create a free student account using the link on FSU Library (scroll to the bottom of page for the link)

3) Submit annotated bibliography of 5 sources

a. Example using RefWorks

4) Develop a matrix of your sources showing concepts that emerge

5) Create a report for a professional/business audience addressing each component of the framework. Outline

a. Introduction

b. Concept and framework

c. Synthesis of information on each concept

i. Provide snippets of information that supports or oppose the concept

d. Conclusion

6) Site your sources in-text and bibliography using the APA style 7th Edition

7) Create a narrated ppt for peer review from your peers.
