How parents and children interact in their natural habitat

1. Natural Observation of Parenting
Observe parents (with their child(ren)) in their natural habitat. Find several different configurations of parentsat the mall, grocery store, park, school, or wherever you can find some. Observe their social interactions with each other and with the other people around them, the language they use, child(ren) and parent(s) approximate age, gender and ethnicity, and the activities they are doing.  How are the various parent-child configurations you observe the same and how are they different?  What context are the parents and children in when you observe them, and how might they act differently in a different context?  Write a detailed account of your observations, as well as what you learned (this may include parent-child interaction styles, parenting strategies, gender issues, cultural and ethnic issues, etc.).

The paper must be single spaced.
