How did America lose many of its teachers who were people of color, what is the current situation in Pennsylvania, and how is this issue being addressed?

In the NPR article Half Of Pennsylvania Schools Still Dont Have A Single Teacher Of Color–These Black Educators Explain Why” by Sojourner Ahebee, the author describes an aspect of the current educational system. She uses the options of experts to explain the loss of teachers of color, which many regard as a huge problem.

For this paper, address the following questions:

How did America lose many of its teachers who were people of color, what is the current situation in Pennsylvania, and how is this issue being addressed?

Format

Your paper must be 5 paragraphs in length and be formatted according to MLA style, including 12 point font, Times New Roman, double-spacing, with one-inch margins, numbered pages, the 4-part heading in upper left of the first page and original TITLE in the correct place in an established style.

Intro:

The intro paragraph must contain a hook, followed by a 3-4 sentence summary of the Ahebee article. The Intro must end with a thesis statement. For your thesis statement, you should make an overall statement about how the current system is in need of repair. (Do NOT use the words “in need of repair.” YOU have to come up with a way to word the fact that the current ratio of teachers of color is messed up.)

Then you can use the three questions as the structure for your three body paragraphs.

The conclusion must be a full paragraph (all paragraphs in our essays are 5-8 sentences.) The conclusion must re-phrase the thesis statement, add something related but new, and end with a kicker that leaves the reader feeling fulfilled.
