The worker should have high knowledge of the available products on the menu and their prices. The person should also know how to set a table.

Effective dressing skills and a high level of hygiene. The person should have communication and listening skills to be able to take customer orders and deliver them as ordered. The person should also have effective teamwork skills.

Maintain safety and proper use of Equipment.

The person must have knowledge relating to the different use of the equipment and table setting knowledge. The knowledge of all the equipment and where they are stored is also necessary.

Skills on the fire extinguisher and how to operate the machine. The person should have proper knowledge of the facility to help customers exit the facility in case of emergencies. Skills to differentiate different types of equipment.

Preparing food

The person must have a sharp sense of taste and smell to prepare food that customers will like. Should have the ability to handle kitchen equipment such as knives and others used for chopping, dicing, and cutting.

The ability to work long shifts overseeing the preparation and serving of meals. Should have listening skills to listen to customer orders and follow cook’s directions. Skills to work in teams and collaboration skills. Dressing skills are another important consideration for this job.

Maintain inventories

The person should have proper stock knowledge and effective processes implementation. The person should know about changing consumer demands. The person should also be able to use warehouse space effectively.

The person must have different skills that include calculation skills, financial skills, and batch tracking skills. The person should also have cross-docking skills, forecasting skills, and material requirements planning skills. Have computer, writing, and reading skills.

Maintaining food safety and sanitation standards

The person must know about operating cooling or refrigerating machines. They must be knowledgeable in determining different temperatures that products can be kept in. the person should know about different cleaning and sanitation machines as well as how to operate them.

The person should have skills of working under prepare and in teams. The person should have cleaning skills. The skills to maintain and operate cleaning equipment are a must for such people. Should have a complete comprehension of the menu. Have computer skills.

Handling and processing customer orders

The person must be cheerful and communicate effectively with customers. The person should maintain a high level of courtesy while dealing with consumers. Should be able to operate and maintain food production equipment as required to complete tasks. Assisting with food preparation as directed, operating food production equipment as required to complete tasks.

The person should have skills for great people. The person should maintain a positive attitude towards the clients and the workmates. The person must have food preparation skills. Should maintain a high level of communication and listening effectiveness. Providing exceptional customer service

The person should report all customer feedback to the management team. The person must communicate effectively with the customers. Summary

Considering my observations, interviews, and preliminary job analysis at Publix Deli, it is clear that a deli-counter worker has a lot of responsibilities that require different knowledge and skills to execute effectively (Aadland, 2012). Some of the task performed by the person includes serving customers, maintaining safety and proper use of equipment, preparing food, maintaining inventories, and maintaining food safety and sanitation standards. The worker is supervised and managed by the Deli manager responsible for daily operations. Some of the knowledge that a deli-counter worker requires include reporting all customer feedback to the management team and communicating effectively with the customers. The person must be a good listener to capture consumer orders and feedback (Christensen, 2018). The employee should be able to prepare and serve drinks and foods such as sandwiches, salads, and dressings neatly, according to a recipe, according to customer specifications, and promptly.

The deli worker should greet customers cheerfully while preparing their orders and also demonstrate a complete understanding of the menu items and explains them to customers accurately (Christensen, 2018). Similarly, the person should be able to use a POS cash register to ring up orders and print correct labels. Some of the skills that such an employee should have include great people skills and should maintain a high level of positive attitude. The person should have communication and listening skills as well as the ability to stand or move for a long time. The person should also have basic computer skills, and arithmetic skills (Aadland, 2012). The employee working as a deli-counter employee should also have skills to operate different kitchen equipment and machines, washing, and cleaning machines among others.
