Throughout the semester, we have discussed various aspects of a substance abuse treatment center using that theme to describe, treatment, outreach and research. The notion of building your own treatment center was the focus of the course and there have been very passionate, interesting and mindful discussions. More recently, we have reviewed the Wells article describing Evidence- Based Treatments (EBTs) for substance abuse. Ungebus dissertation provides further information regarding social workers involvement in substance abuse treatment
In the final assignment, each student will provide 2 EBTs that you employ in your treatment center.
For each EBT please state the modality used, describe the treatment( how you would employ it or the patient population served) , and why you chose this particular EBT ?
Additionally, 2 research articles must be cited for each EBT and a brief description of the article i.e. what was the focus of the article etc.
