Each student shall write a 4 page paper in which they critically interact with the following questions:

1. What were the three most valuable lessons you learned in the class?

2. Why were they the most valuable?

3. How have they affected your character?

4. How will they influence your future life?

The essay will be marked as follows:

1.      Style/grammar/clarity

is the paper well organized, no spelling errors, understandable, good English

15 mks

2.      Completeness

does the paper fully cover three or more topics

15 mks

3.      Depth of discussion

does the paper show that the student has thought deeply on the topics and has provided meaningful and wise comments or is it only a surface discussion? 

55 mks

4.      Interest/originality

is the paper interesting to read, uses good examples to illustrate the points, makes the reader want to read more

The essay will be written according to the following criteria:

– Full title page

– Times New Roman 12 font

– Double spaced

– This is a personal reflection paper and so no outside sources are necessary. However,

if you chose to use outside sources, they must be referenced properly in the notes

and in a bibliography

· [NOTE: The “Course Learning Evaluation” section lists all of the gradable components of the course, and states their grade value. Include optional assignments, if applicable.

· Identify which Course Learning Outcomes are being assessed by each of the assessment methods used in the course. See the Appendix to the Undergraduate Course Syllabus Template – Section 2: for one example.

· Provide a comprehensive list of all projects, public presentations, participation, written assignments, field trips, class discussions, labs, simulations, etc.

· If the course involves any study related to human subjects, apply for research ethics approval at the TWU Research Ethics Board.]
