 There are many references to being thankful in the Bible.  For some it is about God’s provisions for us.  In others it is for our blessings. And yet in others it is about being thankful that Jesus Christ has saved us from our sin.  Here are a few:  

1 Corinthians 15:57 (NLT)

But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NLT)

Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Psalms 100:4 (NLT)

Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.

Philippians 4:6 (NLT)

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
