(1) Why is it important not to ask a couple about their plans for having children?  What are some of the difficulties or trials couples may face in trying to grow a family?

(2) In Emily Martin’s article this week, she highlights how discussions on reproduction use stereotypical gender roles or gendered language.  In society, women are usually the ones blamed for failing to become pregnant, yet medically speaking, it could be the female, the male, or both.  What can be done to decrease this prejudice?
