Chicano Movement in East Los Angeles

Conduct a basic literature review on themes related to the Chicano Movement in 1960s and 1970s. The scholarly references must be peer-reviewed articles, books, and book chapters. You will need to cite your references (3 to 5).
At a minimum, your lit review should address each of the following in one paragraph or more:
1) What has been written about your topic?
Use this piece to make the overview/summarizing statements about your source material in connection to your research topic.

2)What are the main approaches or methods that have been used to study your topic?
Use this area to elaborate on HOW the scholars conducted their research in your references – did they interview people? create or study maps? conduct oral histories? research particular fields to support their findings? collect data on some aspect of your site/event?

3)Are there key debates in the literature about your topic? What are they and why are they important?
This is where you provide your take on what key arguments scholars have made with regards to your research topic. What do they assert about the topic? What do they claim we must know or understand and what are their reasons for such claims?

4)Are there gaps in the literature that you think need to be addressed? If so, what are these?
This is where you think about what you have researched on your topic with relation to what these other scholars have researched and make statements on what you think is missing – it may be what you are bringing to the table with your project, it may be other things that you now see must be looked into further. What are these questions or areas of concern and why should we look into them?
