Journal Article Presentation (50 points): Students will select and read an article from The Counseling Psychologist or Journal of Counseling Psychology (two of the most prestigious journals in counseling psychology) and present the information learned to the class on either 3/2, 4/8, or 4/29. Articles are to be chosen from these two journals only. Presentations should be a minimum of 5 minutes long and include a synopsis of the article, strengths and limitations of the article, your reactions to the article, and a discussion of the articles implication for counseling psychologists.

presentation Requirements:
You should plan to present for 5-7 minutes (you do have a minute grace period, points from your grade will be deducted after that)
Your presentation should include the following:

A brief introduction and conclusion (5 points) A summary of the article (20 points)
o Present the main points, do not try to read large portions of the article.
i.e., (what is the purpose of the article, what are the research questions
or main concepts the researchers are focusing on, what was the design of the study, who were the participants, what did the authors find, or what is the author trying to say?)
o Be concise and show me that you have understood the purpose of the article This should all be in your OWN words!
Practical Implications (10 points)
o What the article means for those practicing in counseling or clinical psychology o How could/should those in the field use this information?
Any reactions you had (10 points)
o What do YOU think of the information?
o Did you find any flaws in the article (you may include a brief critique)?

Any other information that you feel is pertinent
