During the 80s and 90s, there was a substantial spiritual movement that claimed that religious differences had been exaggerated. Some even went so far as to claim that on a fundamental level all religions believe in the same thing.

Over the course of this class, we have now examined several religious traditions. Answer the following question, from your own perspective: To what extent are the great religious traditions fundamentally the same?

Don’t answer the question as a strict yes or no binary question. Obviously there are some differences and obviously there are some similarities.

Include a thesis statement in your opening paragraph which you should underline. The rest of your paper should be defending that thesis. Use what we have examined in this class as evidence to defend your thesis.
