You have been asked to help craft the new exhibits for this museum which tell the story of Canadas past. You are to develop an exhibit plan which outlines the framework for the exploration of an important aspect of Canadas history. The topic of your exhibit plan should be based on one unit from our course.

You may draw on course materials, videos and readings as well as any other relevant (academic) material on the topic.

Your exhibit plan could take a number of different forms. It could be a written submission, similar to an essay; it could be a different design of your own interpretation for example a blog, web site, video or PowerPoint presentation. The primary focus of your exhibit plan is to explain why your topic is important to Canadian history, what your exhibit will address, why such an exhibit is proposed, what ideas you wish to convey and why you want to convey them.

Major Assignment Outline:

You must submit a one-page outline of your proposed assignment for approval. In your outline you must detail your topic, your anticipated exhibit plan concept and your source material. Your one-page outline should include the following:

-a short paragraph outlining your what topic your exhibit would explore

-a short paragraph telling me why you choose that topic. Why is it important? What do you want people to take away from your exhibit?

– a short paragraph outlining what your exhibit might include. How would you relay your message? What methods you used to engage the people who came through your exhibit? Would it be interactive? Have artifacts? Videos?

-what medium you are going to use for the final version of your proposal (report, PowerPoint, blog, website, etc).

-some of the sources you are going to consult. You are welcome to employ sources other than the course material. (Wikipedia is NOT an acceptable source)

You are not being asked to complete an exhibit but rather the proposed framework. The outline will give you a solid foundation for your major assignment.
