You will be presenting on Lars von Trier’s “Dogville” (2003), analyzing the film within the philosophical framework of phenomenology, and using “Countercurrents: The neglected tradition of phenomenology in film theory as a resource. This article explains phenomenology but makes no reference to von Trier or “Dogville”, so I strongly recommend you find additional resources to cover the film’s place in history.
