Requirements – Essay 2 must:
    be typed using Microsoft Word
    use MLA format in the header, heading, font, and spacing
    contain  a minimum of 950 words
    be nonfictional
    employ the showing versus telling technique
    possess an introduction paragraph with a thesis statement at the end
    refer to the textbook essay by the author and title (for example, “The ‘Busy’ Trap” by Tim Kreider)
    provide ample examples/illustrations throughout the body of the essay that support the thesis statement
    include three direct quotations and three paraphrases from the textbook essay and/or two database sources; these quotations and paraphrases must be introduced, connected to your own ideas, and cited in MLA format
    possess a conclusion paragraph that restates the thesis statement in different words

Essay Prompt

1.    Parker advocates for people whose issues with poverty are outside of their control. Some people, on the other hand, have financial problems that they could have prevented. Think of someone you know who has made decisions resulting in financial problems, like overusing credit cards, having a high-priced hobby, gambling, taking on expenses for others, buying or leasing an expensive car, or buying or renting an expensive place to live. Write a descriptive essay with a few clear examples of practices causing financial problems.
