Consider a time in your life when a news story or current event was especially meaningful to you.  For example, perhaps you read a news article online about a new federal law or policy and wanted to know how this would actually affect you or your family or friends.  Or, maybe you heard a rumor about someone at your high school, so you sought information to determine the full story and separate facts from fiction.  This could be quite recent (maybe even now) or might come from your childhoodor at any point in between.  In a narrative (story-telling) form, explain what happened, how you gathered information, and why the experience was important to you.  Include details such as your reactions/thoughts/feelings about various news reports, conflicting sources, or really anything else about how the information you found related to the event.  Your writing should demonstrate an understanding of basic narrative elements such as plot, characterization, theme, dialogue, perspective, symbolism, descriptive language, showing vs. telling, etc.
