PROJECT REQUIREMENTS

Each student is required to write a case study project about one of the management

accounting systems in USA companies covered in managerial accounting course (ex:

Activity-based Costing, Job Costing System, Process Costing System, Budgeting

System, etc.…). Each student must provide evidence about the data collection and

analysis. Each student should select a different accounting system than another student,

but you can write about the same accounting system in different companies. Each

project should follow the format provided in the following pages.

THE FORMAT OF PROJECT

1. INTRODUCTION

This template is designed to assist you in writing the project in the correct format as required by

the ACC 540 course. This template serves as a starting point for any student writing a project. The

following headings give you an indication of the sections required for this project. The project

should be typed, using double-line spacing, and 12-time roman.

You should provide a clear explanation of the topic, including a summary of what you have already

known about that topic, and a clear explanation for the project subject.

2. MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING IN THE USA

Give an overview of the management accounting in the USA. You need to write one to two

pages about the USA's developments and history of management accounting.

3. MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING AND DATA ANALYTICS IN THE USA

In this section, you need to explain the relationship between management accounting and data

analytics in the USA.

4. DATA COLLECTION METHODS

In this section, you need to explain how data has been collected from the secondary data sources.

Secondary sources should involve collecting data about the company and other online resources

supporting your project topic. For example, websites, annual reports, management accounting

reports, performance measures, corporate governance, financial statements, etc.

Note: please note that this case study project relies on secondary data sources only.

5. CASE DESCRIPTION

This is where you need to write about the selected US Company and its history and developments.

Afterward, you should explain how the selected US company used a management accounting

system.

6. CASE ANALYSIS

This section is crucial as the analysis approach reflects your understanding of ACC 540 course.

You need to analyze the management accounting system in the selected company with some

evidence from previous studies or articles in the same industry.

7. DISCUSSION AND ARGUMENT

You need to link here between the case analysis above AND THE RELATED chapter in the ACC

536 course. In this section, you need to use management accounting terminology to reinforce your

discussion.

8. CONCLUSIONS

You need to provide a summary of your conclusions about the project.

9. REFERENCES

A complete list of references using APA style to key texts and articles must be included. For

example:
